The SBH Foundation was established to promote and provide free market entrepreneurial information, business education, legislative transparency, and education reform.

Samuel Morgan Slom President, Director A University of Hawaii graduate, is a private consulting economist, former economist for Bank of Hawaii (1968-82), professor at Hawaii Pacific University (1975-86), President/Executive Director of Small Business Hawaii (SBH) since 1983, President of Small Business Hawaii Entrepreneurial Education Foundation (2007),sole proprietor of SMS Consultants (since 1982) and a Hawaii State Senator (since 1996).

Delorese Malulani Gregoire Director Delorese is the Founding Director of Winners’ Camp, producing Hawaii Leadership Academy for teenagers and their families since 1985. Author of “Tutu Talks”, member of the Rotary Club of Honolulu and Soroptimist International, Founding Director of the Hawaii Kai Chamber of Commerce and Elks Chaplain.

Arla Harvey Secretary, Director Arla is a full time real estate broker associated with East Oahu Realty in Honolulu. Previously she has served as a Director of the Southern California Chapter of Dollars for Scholars, promoting secondary education for children at all levels; and on the Santa Clara County Chapter of Hope Rehabilitation helping assist people with developmental disabilities.

Tammy Kubo Director Tammy is the owner of Hawaii Pet Nanny, LLC established in 2005, a company that provides in home pet care for over 400 pets on Oahu. Former Senior Account Manager, The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii (11-03-6-06), Account Executive, Time Warner Telcom (11-02-10/03). Founder of Keiki Birthday an organization that provides monthly birthday parties for children living in homeless shelters on Oahu and beginning in 2008 on Kauai.

Ken Schoolland Director Ken Schoolland is currently an Associate Professor of Economics and Political Science at Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu. Schoolland served as an international economist in the U.S. International Trade Commission, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and on assignment to the Office of the Special Representative for Trade Negotiations. He taught at Sheldon Jackson College in Alaska and on a university exchange program at Hakodate University in Japan. He later became Director of the Master of Science in Japanese Business Studies Program at Chaminade University. Schoolland is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Society for Individual Liberty, a Sam Walton Fellow for Students in Free Enterprise, a member of the Board of Scholars for the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, and he has authored two books: The Adventures of Jonathan Gullible: A Free Market Odyssey, now published in 46 languages, and Shogun’s Ghost: The Dark Side of Japanese Education, in two languages.

Robert Sigall Vice President, Director Robert is a lifelong entrepreneur and has had several businesses since getting his Masters Degree from the University of Hawaii in 1975. Sigall has been a business consultant since 1978 and owns his own firm, Creative-1. In 2004, he launched Management Magic, which provides a mentor to work one-on-one with mid-level managers and supervisors. He has taught marketing at Hawaii Pacific University for more than a decade and is the author of two current best selling books, “The Companies We Keep”, and “The Companies We Keep 2″.

Bobbie Slater Director Bobbie graduated from Kailua High School and Oregon State University, with a degree in Elementary Education. She has taught in Oregon, California and Hawaii.

*Geal Talbert* *Director* Geal is a Certified Financial Planner with Legacy Group Wealth Management (formerly Legacy Group Hawaii). She has been assisting individuals and small business owners with their financial, retirement, business and estate planning needs for over 20 years. Geal is a board member of the Hawaii Estate Planning Council and a trustee of the Montessori Community School.

Malia Zimmerman Treasurer, Director Malia is president of Hawaii Reporter Inc., an independent, online, free-market oriented business journal founded in February 2002 that reports on issues pertaining to business, government, politics and education in Hawaii. She hosts a weekly television talk show – “News Behind the News” – that airs weekly on Mondays at 6 p.m. on Channel 54 on Oahu. Malia worked for more than 15 years as a grant writer and fundraiser for various Hawaii non-profits and grade schools and currently volunteers with local non-profits.
